It's almost Friday...

But, today on this Thursday, someone has pulled Chicken Little's cranky chain. They yanked hard! It's the darndest thing..really! If you pick him up he instantly goes mute, but when you set him down his temper flares. That'll keep a person from accomplishing anything. Lucky for me, we have curtains that are providing some entertainment now.
Cooking wasn't an option tonight so we are having frozen corn dogs and french fries. It's better than eating the Apple Jacks that I caught the toddler stashing in his crocs.

Little People Wealth just posted about obtaining free activity books based on Dr. Seuss's "The Lorax" from the energy star website.
You can request up to 10 copies at no charge.

I wanted to post this for my friends who know Cameron's mom, Dr. Susan Averitt.

There's no place like home.

We had so much fun in Little Rock these past few days, but it's nice to be home. I feel renewed, rested, and relaxed. My shopping was a success and the boys enjoyed being with their grandparents. I even managed to buy a few Christmas gifts..that's right... Christmas in JULY! I better start a list so I don't forget about them in December.
This store, Box Turtle, is my new favorite! They have such cute necklaces and accessories. I started a Christmas list of my own in here.

So, that's my first "favorite" that I'm sharing with you. I thought it might be fun to share a different one each week. Some of my favorite things have been recommended by others so I hope you'll share some of your favorite things each week too.

I want to mention a great giveaway from Monogram Chick . You can choose between a travel mug or a tote.
Leave a comment to enter and let her know you heard about it here.
Have a great rest of the week.

Park Pics

We headed to the park today for a quick photo shoot so I've been editing pictures on the computer for several hours! The days don't seem to have enough hours in them anymore.

Here's a glimpse of the little darlings from this morning. As you can see, the little guy really enjoyed the wagon rides.

July has been a busy month..hence the lack of good blogging! I can't wait to tell you about some of my projects. I think it will be on the blog next week so stay tuned and I'm promising a give away too!

Other big recent events include the addition of a new TV! You might see a mess, but thanks to the Commander I see Noggin free nights in the near future!

The Commander and I are off to Little Rock in a few hours sans kids! My MIL and FIL are coming to stay for a few nights. The commander has important meetings and I have important shopping! I better start packing.

Going green while in a product funk during a beautiful weekend.

I'll bet you're wondering what that title is all about. Well, I had three topics that I manged to cram into one title so I'll break it down now.

Going green: I decided early in the spring while standing in the drink aisle of Walmart that I was not buying any more water bottles as an effort to go green. I'm happy to report that I put those water bottles back on the shelf and have yet to purchase any since that day. Other small efforts to go green in our house have included changing out light bulbs, recycling (of course), and using store bags as trash bags. The commander mentioned getting a programmable thermostat so that is next on the list. I found a cute market tote to reduce bringing home so many bags from the store. What are some other effortless ways to go green? I stress the word EFFORTLESS here. (The disposable diapers are here to stay).
I don't think I can scoop poop from cloth just yet.

Now for my product funk.. I am in one in a bad way, therefore, I'm bringing it to the blog. We are talking skin care, make up, and hair care! HELP! I need some suggestions. What have you tried and what can you not live without? I've been using Clinique since before my mom gave me the OK to wear make up so I think that qualifies as needing a change. I'm so desperate that I bought the Victoria Jackson make up set on a whim because a lady at Sams handed it to me. I'll try anything to keep from going on a make up counter scavenger hunt and dealing with the pressure sales of make up counter consultants.
As for hair care, I had some relief tonight when I tried the Aveeno samples that came in the mail. (Apply the same make up desperation to hair care here). I've recently been through Purology, John Frieda's blonde line, and Loreal.

Finally, I'm disappointed that this weekend is over. When has it been 82 in July..EVER? We maximized our time outside.
The commander put up a new fan and the outdoor furniture got a facelift.

Riley planted and named the garden "Flippy", and Caden made up some new faces. The commander and I tried to figure out how exactly he's doing this. Bless his little bald head! I love to rub it. Riley reminded me this morning that we have to rub "gen-ti-lee"

I'll leave you with his latest funny.
R: Mom, Do you remember when our light-tricity was off and it was cold and we had to use flash lights?
That's just one Riley-ism that I couldn't correct.

This week in People

Dear Jon,
Why must you pose with your new girlfriend right after announcing your divorce from Kate? That's just mean and adds insult to injury.
Shame on you. Even if you did feel the need to get out, you don't have to flaunt it to the world. Wasn't being in the public eye your big complaint anyway?
As bad as I don't like it, I'm still going to read the article.

Dear Jessica,
Solar warned us that your pouty face would be on the cover of the magazines. Quit texting! No sympathy here.

Dear Brangelina,
When will the world get to see the faces of those beautiful twins? We've been waiting patiently for a year now. Can't we have a glimpse?
Even better, if you want to drop them off at my house I'll babysit.

Dear Paris,
I'm still watching closely, waiting for the custody events to unfold. I hope you end up with Janet.

Signed,
ToolWoman
(I'm off to read something mindless like celebrity gossip). Nothing good can come of this guilty pleasure.

July Photo Shoot

I don't know how all these pictures didn't out with bright red cheeks. It was HOT!
Before I show you some shots from the photo shoot, check out the new pearly whites that have recently arrived.

Mr. C is trying to tap dance on the keyboard so I'm leaving you with those shots.
Have a great weekend!

300th post!

I was hoping for a cleverly thought out 300th post, but I'm coming up short, so it will just be some random jibberish.

I wanted to get in bed to watch MJ's memorial service on TIVO, but apparently our neighbors stay up past 7:00pm and asked if R could come outside to play.
I'm going to fast forward and watch We are the World, first. I can remember putting on many concerts in front of the fire place to that song! Can you believe it has been over 20 years since that song was written? I still love it.
The world can't stop talking about Paris Jackson. Now that we can see her face, isn't she just the cutest thing?

I'm off to make C quit eating crumbs from under the table and feed him some appropriate baby food. He's just doing such a good job at keeping the floors clean, who am I to stop him?

Did you know there was a unique moment today?

Happy 5th of July

I've been on a bit of a blogcation lately. It's all thanks to this guy!

He may be small, but he is MIGHTY and MOBILE!
If he is corralled then he will give this response every time!

He's grown out of his paralytic army scoot where he swiftly scooted along on his stomach using one arm and one leg. He can now manuever around on his hands and knees, opening kitchen cabinets and crawling in the shower.
The commander unstrapped him from his car seat the other day at a restaurant and in 2.35 seconds he was out of his seat and completely on the table.

We did manage to strap him in a stroller long enough to visit an aquarium yesterday.
R. wasn't a fan of the sharks. He was more into the Nemo looking fish.

Today is cloudly so we are staying inside, cooking a big mexican meal, and destroying the house. I have two mobile partners in crime now!

barrel of monkeys!

If I had the energy (or the desire) then we could go see a monkey dressed like a cowboy, riding on the back of a dog, while herding sheep! I have NEVER heard of such a thing. I'll have to find some energy to stay up for the 10pm news and watch the clip again! I'm fascinated with the freak show that came in town with the rodeo.
