Conversations with Riley

R: Who goes to the moon?
Me: Astronauts go to the moon. You know, like what you are going to be for Halloween?
R: Yeah, and they go to Mars too in a rocket.
Am I going to have to know the names of all the galaxies when he's 4?? I have no idea where he picked up MARS.
His nickname has always been Riley bug or Riley Rooster.
A: Come here Rooster Riley
R: I'M NOT ROOSTER RILEY, I'M RILEY ROOSTER! YOU KNOW MY NAME!!
perhaps, we should work on his real name instead of nick names :)
We had CNN on the TV the other night and Riley asked us "what's a company?"
I just looked at Riley's dad for the answer to that one.
His response: It's like Walmart or Target.
Then he asked me "What you thinking bout mama?" I said I'm thinking about what you might ask us when you're 5???
Tonight he needed "a vitamin to feel me better"
and finally...he likes to watch "Scooby Dude"
BABY NEEDS A NAME GIVEAWAY...
I'm in a good mood this morning because I saw $5 hanging from the pocket of a pair of pants that I haven't worn in months. That's always a fun little find.
I'm in a bind though because baby still needs a name!! We have a "he's going to get it by default name", but we need some suggestions and let's face it...looking through rows and rows of baby names is just not that inspiring.
I will announce the prize sometime tomorrow or Fri, but I'm announcing the give away now so you can be thinking.
Deadline is Friday at midnight.
I reserve the right to use the name so if you have future plans for it then I wouldn't suggest it.
Anyone who makes a suggestion will have his/her name entered in the drawing.
Stay tuned and start thinking...

Pumpkin Patch
Riley thought it was pretty funny when I asked him if he thought there was a pumpkin under my jacket.
HURRY UP COLD WEATHER! I have officially run out of warm weather clothes and baby mama desperately needs a hair cut and color fix!
Back to the pumpkin patch..
We read this book before our trip so Riley would know how pumpkins grow.
Here he is sitting on the pumpkin like Jamie (from the book)
Pickin' a good one..

ballgame
We watched some of the game from a suite, but I didn't have my good camera so my pictures didn't turn out too good. I have spent WAAAY to much time trying to correct them, but wasn't very successful.
After the game we visited with Preston, Parker, Sara, Paulette and Tom.
This was our first time to meet Baby Cooper and he was a HOOT! Look at his pretty mom. She's only a few min. older than me (i think that's right). We were born on the same day. I thought you were supposed to look tired with a 7mos old. hmmm!

7 random things

I was tagged by Solar to post 7 random things. I'm finally getting around to it so I'm tagging the other 3 of my blog readers that haven't posted this yet. You know who you are so feel free to post some random things about yourself. (sorry, I didn't exactly follow the rules)
1. I used to own these in the 80s only mine were black. The red ones were super cool in 5th grade, but they were on back order and hard to get!

2. I was able to get these from Solar's mom. They were pink and blue and yes, I used to pump them up before running. I felt sooooo cool~

3. I carried my lunch money in these while in elementary school. Only mine were brown and tan. (for someone with no memory at all, I am doing well at remembering my shoes)

4. These were the ultimate 7th grade fad. I think my mom still has them in the attic.
I curled my bangs back, sprayed them up high, and tucked my jeans in these.

5. These were only cool if you knew how to make the loopy shoe laces. One would NOT dare to actually tie them.

6. Present day: I want these!

7. Finally, I love to wear flats.
Croupy brownies and funny apples.
We got an official croup diagnosis this week so Riley spent most of his week coughing (barking) at home with Dodo.
In the meantime, he helped me make train brownies tonight.

I'm pretty sure they were contaminated with croup when he thought I wasn't looking.
This picture was not staged. It's blurry because I caught him in action!

He worked diligently on a funny apple when we were waiting for our brownies to become germ free.
An eye here...

An ear there...

voila..

Look at these yummy, croup free, train brownies.
There is one waiting for me now with a glass of milk.
